Our Story

For many of us, our lives feel busier than ever, with longer working days in environments that prioritise systems that seem to inhibit our imaginations and personal contributions. There is a loss of connection and personal satisfaction and people are becoming measurably more stressed and overwhelmed. There is also an increasing sense of having little say over how to create meaning & purpose in our lives. Fundamentally, as a society we are being compelled to limit our imaginations and to follow narrowly defined roles, with ever increasing bureaucracy. Technology & administration that promises freedom, often inhibits real communication and limits our sense of creativity and innovation. These contexts are having a numbing effect on our lives and are creating less fulfilment and satisfaction in what we do. As a result many people are becoming more and more passive and distracted.

The Art of Collaboration is also a process for developing meaningful relationships and powerful networks. We develop deeper awareness and understanding of our human interdependence through listening, learning and reflection. Our process includes dialogue, discussion, debate and engaging multiple personalities and perspectives. We seek to encourage both social and personal transformation through self-awareness and meaningful collaboration.

With the increasing use of technology in our world, it is hard to avoid a sense of disconnection and isolation. Our feeling for a collective purpose is becoming undermined and diminished by organisations that are compelled to work within systems that control & limit fresh thinking and curiosity.
More than ever we need systems and culture change, where people matter more than bureaucracies. This requires a change of mindset and a willingness to challenge current processes, designed to keep us isolated and to limit the power of our collective imaginations. We all want to live meaningful lives in spite of a world that is becoming more polarised and divisive. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence this mechanised view of the world is accelerated even more. Rather than being complicit in creating a future that is less people centred and more robotic, we need a mindset shift to challenge systems that undermine our genuine human qualities such as empathy and togetherness. In order to shape a future that prioritises more these qualities we all need to develop more collaborative mindsets.
We can create resourceful communities in work and leisure through imagination, empathy and a desire for well-being and happiness. Increased efficiency, optimisation and doing more, is in fact leading to a loss of relationship, both within ourselves and with those people around us. We need to reconnect and cultivate our human capacities to make meaning in our lives and this really requires a shift in our relating, in how we are creating community and connection. The more technocratic our world becomes, the more we need to focus on the richness of our human qualities. Learning to improve our capacity to relate, through engaged collaboration provides a fresh perspective and the collective mindset shift required to shape a more generative and sustainable world.
